Hello there.

Why hello there world. So, I had this thought…I wanted to create something as an outlet for me, but also a platform for people to discuss things that are important to them. “Things that are important” can be more intense things like struggling with relationships or life, or they can be simple things like the new Starbucks Cascara latte, of which I fully approve, or the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. I have had this idea for a while now and I finally decided to take the plunge and actually do something with it.

So, first things first, a little about me and my goal for this blog:

(side note: I am currently writing this in a Word document and I feel like Creed from the Office when Ryan sets up his fake blog: http://www.creedthoughts.gov.www/creedthoughts….if you don’t know what episode I am talking about, color me disappointed. Anyway, back to me)

My name is Caroline. I am currently 25 years of age, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and live in New York City. I have a BFA in Musical Theatre and am a proud alumna of Zeta Tau Alpha. I am the youngest of three children and have been dating the same lumberjack of a human, Andrew, since 2011. I love elephants, sunflowers, and that certain smell in the air right before it snows. My world revolves around my little floof, otherwise known as a rabbit, and is powered by espresso and Disney songs. I am a proud Ravenclaw, have an addiction to high quality paper products, and adore fine leather goods.

I have had the idea of doing a blog of sorts since I was in college. At first, I thought about having a forum for people to discuss their problems, like those old “Ask Amy” columns in the newspaper. The more I thought about it, the more I also wanted it to be a place for me to discuss things that I find important and different challenges I have faced/am facing in the hopes that my story can help other people.

In this blog, I will talk about a myriad of things ranging from life in NYC and my personal struggles, to the merits of slipper socks and a debate of the Hogwarts houses (Ravenclaw for LIFE). I also have a “contact” page where you can send me messages about what you are going through or things you would like for me to discuss.

Here is a list of things that I will talk about in hopes of getting to the heart of it all (see what I did there?):

  • Life in NYC
    • Living far away from my family
    • Finding an apartment that is worth a damn that’s not a million dollars (WHY IS THIS SO HARD!!!!!)
  • Work challenges
  • Life as an actor
  • Life as an actor who is not actively acting (and why that is OKAY)
  • People who are allowed to narrate my life
  • The merits of slipper socks
  • Adult things like paying bills and learning how retirement funds work
  • Reviews of movies/music/shows/books
  • Harry Potter
  • Disney
  • Goals and progress reports for my goals
    • Weight loss journey (oof)
    • Learning Italian
    • Practicing piano
    • Understanding the value of patience
    • Writing this blog
  • Regular polish vs gel polish vs no light gel polish
  • Product reviews
  • NOT POLITICS*
  • The glory of Renaissance Fairs
  • Weddings
    • Being in them
    • Going to them
    • Potentially planning them (stay tuned, guys)
  • Finding/loving self
  • Recipes and food

*I will not, under any circumstances, discuss partisan political issues. I may, however, discuss causes about which I am passionate. Play nice, Internet.

I promise to be honest-sometimes brutally so. I promise to be transparent (which can be different than being honest). I will try to be humorous whenever possible, but, above all, I promise to be blatantly, boldly, and unabashedly ME.
